Food at School
Pelham's food policy was developed with Merton Council's Nutrition Consultant. The policy aims to support a healthy lifestyle, based on balanced food choices by pupils and staff.
Pelham provides a varied and healthy menu of school lunches, which are cooked on the premises.
Children may alternatively bring in packed lunches, but the content of these are monitored and if the lunchtime supervisors are concerned, this will be raised with parents.
In breaks, only fruit, vegetables, milk and water may be consumed. Fruit is provided free to children in Nursery and Key Stage 1 classes.
Fizzy drinks are not allowed in school or on trips. Children only bring water to drink during the school day.
Pelham is a "nut free" school and children are encouraged not to bring products containing nuts, to school.
