Topics and learning

Topics in Reception include; Traditional Tales, Facts, Journeys and Changes. Reception children are able to learn in a stimulating, indoor and outdoor environment and regularly mix with children from our Nursery. The day is made up of three structured whole-class teaching sessions, one or two focused learning sessions in small groups and child-initiated learning time.

We usually offer two main trips every year: a theatre trip at Christmas and a trip to the farm in the Summer Term.

Reception is a very exciting year - children make vast steps in their learning and will be readers and writers by the end of the year!
