Academic Achievement
Statutory Assessment Results 2020
Due to the national lockdown, from March 2020, no statutory assessments took place in the academic year 2019-20. Schools have been advised that the Phonics Screening test for Year 1 will take place for eligible Year 2 pupils in the second half of the Autumn Term
Academic 'achievement' is measured by a combination of 'attainment' (the national curriculum standard that a child has reached) and 'progress' (the measure of improvement a child has made, relative to his/her starting point, compared to children nationally, with a similar starting point).
Statutory Assessment Results 2019
The results, as set out bellow, show how the school achievement in the KS2 SATs compares with the national results.
The combined Reading, Writing and Maths percentage shows those reaching the expected standard or above in all three areas.
Interpreting a school’s progress scores
A school’s progress scores for English reading, English writing and mathematics are calculated as its pupils’ average progress scores. This means that school level progress scores will be presented as positive and negative numbers either side of zero.
- A score of 0 means, on average, pupils do about as well at key stage 2 as those with similar prior attainment nationally.
- A positive score means, on average, pupils do better at key stage 2 than those with similar prior attainment nationally.
- A negative score means, on average, pupils do less well at key stage 2 than those with similar prior attainment nationally.
These results are provisional and are subject to change, when reviews have taken place.
